A video content display device equipped with: a display unit which displays video content and an application screen; and a display layout determination unit which, when the aspect ratio of the display unit and the aspect ratio of the video content differ, determines the display layout in accordance with a prescribed rule so as to display the application screen in a margin generated when the video content is displayed in full-screen mode while the aspect ratio of the video content is maintained.
