A system 300 is provided for automatically remotely controlling intrusion thresholds of intrusion detectors 340,342,344 deployed in a plurality of premises 330,332,334. The system comprises: a means for receiving environmental information pertaining to the environment of at least some of the plurality of premises; a means for comparing the received environmental information with a number of environmental patterns, and in response to determining a match, automatically remotely tuning a threshold of at least one intrusion detector deployed in at least one of the plurality of premises. The environmental information may relate to the weather whereby tuning of the detector may involve increasing or decreasing a detection threshold in response to a predetermined weather condition. The system 300 may reside on a computer network or in an internet cloud. The invention is particularly suited to preventing false alarms resulting from detections at premises during bad weather conditions. |
