[Problem] To provide a method for creating a transformant having significantly improved glucaric acid-producing capability and a method for efficiently producing glucaric acid using the transformant. [Solution] Gene recombination or mutation for inducing overproduction of functional inositol monophosphatase or activation of inositol monophosphatase is introduced to a transformant possessing an inocitol-1-phosphate synthase gene, an inositol monophosphatase gene, a myoinositol oxygenase gene, and a uronic acid dehydrogenase gene.
