A pigment dispersing agent, a pigment dispersion liquid, a colorized photoresist and a preparation method thereof and an application in a color film substrate and a display device. The pigment dispersing agent is polymethacrylate modified by using amido-&bgr;-cyclodextrin, and is used for dispersing a pigment powder containing an aromatic group, a modificatory degree of amido-&bgr;-cyclodextrin ranging from 5.36% to 35.40%. A &bgr;-cyclodextrin group is a pigment affinity group, and can be bonded with an aromatic group in a molecular structure of the pigment; therefore, the pigment dispersing agent can be used for dispersing the pigment powder containing the aromatic group.
