Provided are a color mixing device and a display device, with which the color white can be represented in consistent fashion, even in low-luminance areas. This color mixing device (10) and display device are provided with: a red light source (LD11) for outputting red light (R) at optical intensity in response to a first current presented thereto; a green light source (LD12) for outputting green light (G) at optical intensity in response to a second current presented thereto; a blue light source (LD13) for outputting blue light (B) at optical intensity in response to a third current presented thereto; and a color mixing means (15) for color mixing of the red light (R), the green light (G), and the blue light (B) together. An optical attenuation unit (16) transmits or reflects the blue light, bringing about attenuation and advance thereof in the output direction. The blue light (B) output by the blue light source (LD13) is attenuated to a greater extent than the light of the other colors (R, G) during output. |
