The present invention provides a manufacturing method for a glass substrate used for a magnetic disk or the like, with which the surface roughness of the main surface of the glass substrate can be reduced from the current level. According to the present invention, the surface roughness of the substrate main surface can be further reduced from the current level by using a polishing solution containing organic particles formed from styrene resin, acrylic resin, or urethane resin as polishing particles, and mirror polishing (final polishing) the main surface of the glass substrate to be used for a magnetic disk. |
