Recovering waste lubricants.-Apparatus for de-aerating lubricants comprises a de-aerating chamber d which is maintained under .limited reduced pressure by a vacuum pump v and a spring-loaded air-inlet valve s, is supplied with used oil from a drain tank t through a funnel m, a float-controlled valve w, and a port k, and contains an oil-pump o by which the treated oil is returned through a pipe u, a valve m, and a pipe y to the lubricated parts a. The pump o is driven by an electric motor n. The pump v is driven independently by the motor n, e.g. from the motor spindle or from the oil-pump spindle g by a worm j and worm-wheel r.
