A compressor includes a compressor body that compresses air; a flow rate control valve that controls a flow rate of the air sucked into the compressor body; a diaphragm type actuator for the flow rate control valve; a high-pressure pipe that communicates with a flow passage, through which the compressed air discharged from the compressor body flows, and a first air chamber of the actuator for the flow rate control valve; and a low-pressure pipe that is positioned between the flow rate control valve and the compressor body to communicate with a flow passage, through which the air sucked into the compressor body flows, and a second air chamber of the actuator for the flow rate control valve. An opening degree of the flow rate control valve at start of the compressor body is set to generate a negative pressure in the flow passage through which the air sucked into the compressor body flows. |
