Disclosed is an illegal U-turn preventing facility which is able to prevent an illegal U-turn in advance by installing an ascending and descending gate in an U-turn section and operating the gate in connection with a traffic light. The illegal U-turn preventing facility according to the present invention includes: a traffic light which is installed to have a stop signal (red) and a driving signal (green, arrow) in the front side of a crossroad in order to control the passage of vehicles; a traffic signal controller which controls the traffic light; and a gate which is installed to block the passage of vehicles in the U-turn section of the crossroad and opens the U-turn section only when an U-turn is possible by the control of the traffic signal controller according to U-turn conditions of the traffic light. The gate selectively ascends and descends by the control of the traffic signal controller by being formed with multiple poles which stand on a U-turn section. The gate formed with the poles is able to be opened by consecutively descending from a crossroad with time intervals. |
