Highly cross-linked polymers are often damaged by polymerization stress, resulting in the formation and propagation of cracks. The present invention relates to resin compositions that have exceptionally low curing stress and have substantial flowability. The invention is applicable to dental materials. One embodiment of the invention relates to a photopolymerizable and photocleavable (P&P) resin monomer derived from a reactive photoresponsible moiety via various linkages to form a photopolymerizable monomers and/or oligomers.
