METHOD FOR CONTROLLING HIGH BEAM ASSIST USING LIDAR AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

The present invention is relates to a method of controlling a high beam assist (HBA), and an apparatus for the same. More specifically, the said invention relates to a method of controlling an HBA and an apparatus for the same using lidar. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method of controlling HBA using the lidar includes: irradiating lidar towards a peripheral object of a vehicle; measuring a signal intensity and distance using lidar reflected by the object; determining whether a vehicle exists on a front side in accordance to the measured intensity; and controlling the vehicle′s high beams in accordance to whether the vehicle exists on the front side and the distance.
