DRAINING DEVICE FOR A RAILROAD TANK CAR

The invention relates to railway transport and concerns a design of a drain device for railroad tank cars with a bottom discharge. The drain device for a railroad tank car comprises a housing, an upper valve, a lower valve and an intermediate valve positioned therebetween. The intermediate valve is embodied as a safety plug with a sealing ring, a ball cock and a safety cable. The plug is screwed into the housing along the buttress thread formed by rods, the rods are mounted in holes in the housing and project into the flow area of the closure system. The holes are made in one plane, perpendicular to a housing axis. The invention provides to enhance operation reliability by excluding product leakages onto railway tracks in case of fault operation (leakages) through the upper or lower valves.
