Provided in the present invention is a method for extracting a component from Ishige okamurae, which is effective in preventing skin aging and reducing wrinkles. Moreover, provided in the present invention is a cosmetic composition for preventing skin aging and reducing wrinkles, which contains an extract of Ishige okamurae by butanol as an effective component, has anti-oxidation activity, and suppresses activity of elastase and collagenase. The cosmetic composition is expected to contribute to the maintenance of healthy skin by inhibiting destruction of skin tissue.
