This invention relates to rosuvastatin analogues of general formula I and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereofwherein A isand the rest substituents have meanings described herein in the description. The compounds of the present invention are active in inhibiting the enzyme 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase (HMG-CoA reductase) and can be used for the treatment of disease states modulated by HMG-CoA reductase.
