The present invention relates to a locking device for a sliding window. The locking device for a sliding window according to the present invention is installed between a window frame having multiple rails and a sliding window slid along the rails of the window frame and locks or unlocks the sliding window. The locking device for a sliding window comprises a striker which is fixed between the rails of the window frame through a coupling piece protruding to the sliding window; a housing which has an insertion groove that the coupling piece is inserted on the surface opposite to the striker and is fixed to the sliding window; a handle which is arranged on the front surface of the housing to be moved in a line with the sliding direction of the sliding window; and a hook member which is arranged inside the housing and is connected to the handle to restrict or release the coupling piece according to the moving position of the handle.
