<p>The purpose of the present invention is to provide a solid wire for gas shield arc welding of high strength steel having excellent workability and to obtain weld metal having the strength adequate to weld 780 MPa grade high strength steel and, specifically, having excellent and stable low temperature toughness in the area. According to the present invention, the solid wire for gas shield arc welding of high strength steel comprises, by mass%, with respect to the total mass percentage of a wire; 0.02-0.10% of C, 0.20-0.55% of Si, 1.50-1.95% of Mn, 0.15-0.45% of Cu, 2.7-3.2% of Ni, 0.35-0.65% of Cr, 0.15-0.40% of Mo, and 0.02-0.10% of Ti. Moreover, the solid wire for gas shield arc welding of high strength steel is characterized that Pts represented by equation 1 of the below is 0.73-0.95.
