A display panel including pixels disposed on a substrate, where each of the pixels includes a light emitting element, and a capacitor. The capacitor of a first one of the pixels is partially overlapped, in a vertical direction, by respective pixel areas of two of the pixels. The anode of the capacitor of the first one of the pixels may be disposed closer to the substrate than a cathode of the capacitor, thereby reducing a parasitic capacitance between the capacitor and an anode of the light emitting element of one of the two pixels overlapping the capacitor.

1. A display device comprising:
a pixel array unit having a plurality of pixels disposed in a matrix shape on a substrate, wherein each of the plurality of pixels includes:
a capacitor;an electro-optical element having an anode electrode and a cathode electrode;a writing transistor configured to sample a video signal from a signal line; anda driving transistor configured to supply a current to the anode electrode of the electro-optical element according to the video signal; wherein the capacitor is disposed between the substrate and the electro-optical element and includes a first electrode on a substrate side and a second electrode on an electro-optical element side, and the capacitor of a first one of the plurality of pixels is partially overlapped by an anode electrode of a second one of the plurality of pixels adjacent to the first one of the plurality of pixels.
