FIELD: process engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of seamless pipes from heated solid metal billets with the help of mandrel (4) fitted on piercer bar (5). Proposed method comprises application of coating on inner side of hollow billet. Pipe inner surface quality is perfected owing to cover material application on hollow billet inner side by piercer bar. Note here that airtight layer is made on hollow billet and pipe inner sides.
