According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for controlling a step motor comprises: a drive part to drive the step motor; and a control part to receive data for driving the step motor, to convert the data into a driving pulse for generating power in the step motor, and output the driving pulse to the drive part. When outputting the driving pulse to the drive part in order to generate power in the step motor in idle state, the control part increases the amplitude of the driving pulse per unit time in order to enable the driving pulse to reach a limit during a predetermined time period from the input point of the driving pulse. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for controlling the step motor comprises: a step of receiving data for driving the step motor, converting the data into a driving pulse capable of driving the step motor, and outputting the driving pulse; a step of increasing the amplitude of the driving pulse per unit time in order to enable the driving pulse to reach a limit during a predetermined time period from the input point of the outputted driving pulse; and a step of receiving the driving pulse and driving the step motor. |
