The present invention relates to a method for controlling the supply of steam in the washing machine. The method includes the steps of: heating an internal predetermined space of a duct connected to a tub in the washing machine to a temperature higher than that of another space in the duct; directly feeding water to the heated predetermined space to generate steam; and supplying air flow to the heated predetermined space so that the generated steam is supplied to the tub.
