The longeron has front and rear inner longerons (10, 11) made of steel sheet and placed in extension to form a hollow body closed by e.g. B-Pillar and A-Pillar reinforcements (4, 5), made of steel sheet. The reinforcements are fixed on an outer side of the front and rear longerons. A part of the front and rear longerons includes a hollow and closed extruded section (12) made of aluminum or aluminum based alloy. The section connects remaining parts of the front and rear longerons. The B-Pillar reinforcement is fixed on an outer face (12b) of the section.
