PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and supply control method with which excessive supply of toner can be prevented due to a variation in speed of conveyance of the toner by conveying means.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes a screw feeder 64A, toner density sensor 67, and control unit 5. The screw feeder 64A conveys a developer supplied to the inside of a developing device from a supply port 70 to a detection position separated from the supply port 70. The toner density sensor 67 detects the density of the developer at the detection position. The control unit 5 supplies developer from the supply port 70 again in a case where a sensor output value is less than a density threshold V1 when a setting time T1 has passed from the start of the supply of developer. The control unit 5 further measures a conveyance time from when the developer is supplied to the developing device until when the supplied developer reaches the detection position, and changes a stop time T2 to the measured conveyance time. |
