Burst Detection for Lines to Remote Devices

In some implementations, a control device is coupled with an output, the output to be coupled with a remote device via a line, for example, in an industrial environment. A burst detector is coupled with the output to detect bursts on the line. In response to detected bursts, a switch device may couple the output with a reference potential.

an output to be coupled with a remote device via a line in an industrial environment; a control device coupled with said output and being configured to control said remote device via said line; a burst detector coupled with said output to detect bursts on said line; and a switch device to couple said output with a reference potential in response to a burst being detected by said burst detector.
