The systems and methods may include measuring a first parameter set associated with a supervisory signal, the supervisory signal being communicated in-band with the dual-polarization signal; calculating a second parameter set from the first parameter set; calculating an intensity value from the second parameter set, the intensity value associated with one of the polarization states of the dual-polarization signal; and estimating a signal power associated with the supervisory signal from the intensity value. |
