PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system, an information processing apparatus, a document management method, and a program for performing a print process on document data in a synchronous counterpart in a system for synchronizing the document data.SOLUTION: A document management system of the invention includes: a document management apparatus 120 that serves as a synchronization origin; and an information processing apparatus 130 that serves as a synchronization counterpart. The information processing apparatus 130 includes: document storage means 136 storing one or more document data serving as synchronization targets and distributed from the document management apparatus 120 via a network; determination means 140 determining whether it is necessary to restrict functions on the basis of a probability that the one or more document data in the document storage means 130 do not match a management state of the document management apparatus 120; and restriction processing means 142 restricting the functions relating to output of the one or more document data in the document storage means 136 if the determination means 140 determines that it is necessary to restrict the functions.
