<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator which can suitably control transmission of flame energy by a transfer charge, which can be manufactured inexpensively and easily, and which has lightweight, without causing dispersion in an output characteristic.SOLUTION: A gas generator 1A comprises: a short cylindrical housing with both ends closed, constituted of an initiator shell 10 and a closure shell 20; an igniter 30 attached to the initiator shell 10; and an enhancer cup 40 constituted of a single bottomed cylindrical member, with a transfer charge 34 ignited by the igniter 30 housed therein. In a sidewall section 42 of the enhancer cup 40, the enhancer cup 40 comprises: a thin weak part 42a that is ruptured or melted by combustion of the transfer charge 34 caused by operation of the igniter 30; and a thick non-weak part 42b that remains without being ruptured or melted by the combustion of the transfer charge 34 caused by the operation of the igniter 30.</p> |
