PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a process for performing high temporal- and spatial-resolution MR imaging of the anatomy of a patient during intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) to directly measure and control a highly conformal ionizing radiation dose administered to the patient for treatment of diseases caused by proliferative tissue disorders.SOLUTION: Technologies of open MRI (0015), multileaf-collimator (125) or compensating filter-based IMRT (020) administration and cobalt teletherapy are combined into a single co-registered and gantry (025) mounted system.
