PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine which prevents a thread wiping lever from coming into contact with a sewing machine body and the like at the time of driving of a thread wiping mechanism. ! SOLUTION: A sewing machine includes: a solenoid; a plunger for moving from a first position to a second position when energizing to the solenoid; a spring for energizing the plunger toward the first position from the second position; and a thread wiping lever connected to the plunger and having a bent part capable of being engaged with a sewing thread. A CPU of the sewing machine starts energization to the solenoid (S29). After the plunger moves from the first position to the second position by the start of the energization to the solenoid, the CPU stops the energization to the solenoid (S33). After stopping the energization to the solenoid, the CPU starts the energization to the solenoid again before the plunger reaches the first position from the second position by an energization force of the spring |
