PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nickel-cobalt composite hydroxide having a narrow particle size distribution and a uniform particle diameter.SOLUTION: A method for producing a nickel-cobalt composite hydroxide includes: a seed particle forming step of forming seed particles by maintaining the nickel ion concentration within the range of 0.1-5 ppm by mass, while agitating an aqueous reaction solution comprising an aqueous mixed solution containing metal compounds including metals constituting general formula: NiCoMnM(OH)(0.05≤x≤0.95, 0≤y≤0.55, 0≤z≤0.1, x+y+z<1, M is one or more metal elements selected from V, Cr and the like) and an aqueous ammonia solution containing an ammonium ion feeding material, under such a condition that the discharge head of an agitation blade is 50-100 m/s; and a seed particle growth step of growing the seed particles by agitating an aqueous solution for growing the seed particles, obtained by supplying a mixed solution and an aqueous ammonia solution to the aqueous reaction solution, while maintaining so that the nickel ion concentration is within the range of 5-300 ppm by mass and higher than the nickel ion concentration in the seed particle forming step. |
