PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an end-to-end system for supporting machine-to-machine (M2M) communication services.SOLUTION: An M2M entity discovers an M2M service capability entity that may provide an M2M service capability, and registers with the discovered M2M service capability entity. An address or identity of the service capability entity is pre-configured or obtained from a dispatcher server. The M2M entity indicates a support M2M service identifier and receives an identity or address of the M2M service capability entity corresponding to the service identifier. A gateway may advertise M2M service identifiers so that an M2M device accesses the gateway if there is a match.
