Rollers for the drawing- heads of spining-machines are provided with detachable covers comprising an inner layer of fibre, and a layer of sheet cork glued on to the fibre. The cork covering 7, Fig. 4, is preferably wound on the fibre tube 6 in spiral form. The fibre tube is of slightly smaller diameter than the roller, so that the cover is retained in position by its own tensile strength.</p> |
