PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ultrasonic endoscope capable of accurately setting a direction of a flexible, filamentous treatment instrument protruded in an ultrasonic tomographic image by a raising mechanism during ultrasound imaging with an ultrasonic probe.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic probe is provided at the most distal end of an endoscope insertion part. A forceps channel opening for protruding a flexible, filamentous treatment instrument and a side view type optical observation part whose objective window faces in a direction substantially orthogonal to the axial direction of the insertion part are provided behind the ultrasonic probe. A raising base that is operable to be raised and lowered is provided in a raising base storage recess communicating with the forceps channel opening. A side wall of a pair of the raising base storage recesses positioned at both sides of the raising base of the raising base storage recesses is formed to the most distal end of the insertion part except for the ultrasonic probe, and a side that crosses an opening surface of the raising base storage recess of each of the side walls is substantially parallel to the axial line of the insertion part. |
