PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change a focal distance of an image in a virtual image that a user watches, without mechanically moving members forming a head-mounted display device.SOLUTION: The head-mounted display device comprises: a pair of display driving parts each for generating and emitting image light representing an image; and an image processing part for controlling the display driving parts so as to emit the image light from emission areas of the display driving parts. In order to change a focal distance of an image in a virtual image that a user watches, the image processing part controls the pair of display driving parts so as to move the emission areas either in a first direction or in a second direction. In the first direction, an image formed by image light emitted from one display driving part and an image formed by image light emitted from the other display driving part are made closer to each other in an interconnected manner. In the second direction, the image formed by the image light emitted from the one display driving part and the image formed by the image light emitted from the other display driving part are made away from each other in an interconnected manner. |
