PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved earcup assembly for a headset and an improved headset. ! SOLUTION: An earcup assembly 11 for a headset 10 comprises a housing having a first side adapted to engage the head of a user in use and a second side opposite to the first side. A recess provided in the second side of the housing receives and stores a battery. A battery door 14 is arranged to slidably engage the second side of the housing such that the battery door 14 may be moved between a first open position in which the recess is accessible to the user and a second closed position in which the recess is covered by the battery door 14. Preferably, the earcup assembly 11 may include an active noise reduction circuitry.
