PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive support system supporting the improvement of actual travel fuel economy without depending on the ability of a driver. ! SOLUTION: A drive support system according to an embodiment comprises: auto-cruise control means for traveling own vehicle following a preceding vehicle; travel plan calculation means for calculating a travel plan showing a target travel speed after the present time, which improves actual travel fuel economy of the own vehicle; travel plan display means for displaying the travel plan and a vehicle speed of the own vehicle at the present time; and switch control means for switching, according to a following distance from the preceding vehicle, between an auto-cruise mode by the auto-cruise control means and a travel plan display mode of displaying the travel plan in the travel plan display means and traveling the own vehicle according to the driving operation of a driver. !
