PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display any page and at least preceding page of the page in document data more quickly than the conventional manner.SOLUTION: When a page of a document is requested from document display software 12 of a client device 10, a document providing server 20 returns converted data 110 of the page in a format displayable by the document display software 12. An index generation unit 26 of the document providing server 20 generates a page index including URLs of converted data 110 of the preceding and following pages of the page, and information indicating whether each converted data 110 is the preceding page or the following page of the transmitted page, and transmits the index to the document display software 12. The document display software 12 displays the converted data 110 which is provided and displays a call button for the "preceding page" and a call button for the "following page" associated with the URLs of each of the preceding and following pages included in the page index. |
