An imaging system includes: an image-forming optical system (202) which forms an image of a photographic subject (201); an image sensor (205) which receives light incident from the image-forming optical system (202) on a light-receiving surface, and outputs image data; and an image processor (206) which performs restoration processing on the image data outputted from the image sensor (205), wherein an effective area of a point image formed on the light-receiving surface of the image sensor (205) by the image-forming optical system (202) is configured to be sized to spread across equal to or more than 3 pixels of light-receiving pixels of the image sensor (205), and a S/N (Signal/Noise) ratio of the image sensor (205): SNR and a MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) value at a 1/2 Nyquist frequency of the image sensor (205): M satisfy Expression (A): SNR‰¥20log 10 (5/M). |
