Provided is a method for producing, without causing trouble during production and in a highly producible manner, a hot-rolled martensitic stainless steel strip which is favorable for use in a welded steel pipe serving as a line pipe, and exhibits high strength and excellent sulfide stress cracking resistance (SSC resistance) and carbonic-acid gas corrosion resistance. A steel material having the following composition is heated to a heating temperature satisfying 1050≤T≤60(Ni-0.9Cr-1.1Mo)+1720, and then hot rolled and made into a hot-rolled steel strip: a composition containing C in an amount less than 0.0150%, N in an amount less than 0.0200%, Si in the amount of 0.05-1.0%, Mn in the amount of 0.1-2.0%, P in an amount not greater than 0.03%, S in an amount not greater than 0.010%, Al in the amount of 0.001-0.10%, Cr in the amount of 10-14%, Ni in the amount of 2.0-5.0%, Mo in the amount of 1.0-4.0%, and Ti in the amount of 0.03-0.15%, and also containing one or more selected from a group consisting of Nb in an amount not greater than 0.10%, V in an amount not greater than 0.10%, Zr in an amount not greater than 0.10%, Hf in an amount not greater than 0.20%, and Ta in an amount not greater than 0.20%.
|
