A system for monitoring an imminent earthquake, comprising: a plurality of groups of sensor arrays (50) used for detecting sound wave frequency bands of different earthquake sounds; a signal processing module (40) used for conducting signal filtering, amplification and analogue-to-digital conversion on output signals of the plurality of groups of sensor arrays (50); and a signal transmission module (30) which comprises a cable (301) used for transmitting output signals of the signal processing module (40), a main control module (20) used for receiving the signals transmitted by the cable (301), and a power supply management module (10) used for supplying power for the signal processing module (40), the signal transmission module (30) and the main control module (20). Since a frequency response range of the plurality of groups of sensor arrays (50) covers sound wave frequency bands of different earthquake sounds, the system for monitoring an imminent earthquake can capture the intensity, frequentness and frequency of different earthquake sound information. In addition, further provided is an installation method for the system used for monitoring an imminent earthquake.
