PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode active material, a cathode, and a secondary battery which are capable of reducing a rate of reduction in discharge capacity due to an increase in the amount of discharge current, and to provide a method for manufacturing a cathode active material.SOLUTION: The cathode active material for a secondary battery contains crystal particles of sodium chromite which have a conductive material adhered thereto. The conductive material is formed by, for example: taking an organic compound belonging to saccharides, a nonvolatile unsaturated hydrocarbon, a polymer compound containing a hydroxy group, or the like as a carbon source; and subjecting the carbon source to carbonization treatment simultaneously with synthesis of the crystal particles of sodium chromite. |
