DEVICE AND METHOD FOR FLEXIBLE DIE FORMING PLATE BASED ON MAGNETORHEOLOGICAL ELASTOMER

Disclosed are a device and method for flexible die forming a plate based on a magnetorheological elastomer, which relate to a plate type flexible die forming device and method, so as to solve the problem that it is impossible to change the rubber properties in the existing rubber flexible die forming process. In the device, an accommodating frame and a die are arranged oppositely up and down; a head of a plunger is located in an inner cavity of the accommodating frame; a magnetorheological elastomer is filled on the lower surface of the plunger; and a coil is sheathed onto outer sidewalls of the accommodating frame and the die. The method comprises: a) placing a plate to be formed between the lower surface of the accommodating frame and the upper surface of the die; b) determining a magnetic field strength B of a working area according to the shape of the plate to be formed as well as the elastic modulus values of the magnetorheological elastomer required in various phases during the forming; c) connecting the coil to a direct current power supply, changing the magnetic field strength of the area where the magnetorheological elastomer is located by adjusting the current, and making the plate to be formed form a desired shape at the appropriate elastic modulus of the magnetorheological elastomer; and d) removing the formed part. The present invention is used for flexible die forming a plate.
