PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight core metal to be inserted into a trim of a weather strip, which can be inserted in a thick flange without increasing the width of the core metal by easily expanding an opening of the trim, when inserted into the flange for installation. SOLUTION: The core metal 11 includes a center core 3a and bone pieces 3b to be formed in parallel with each other at regular intervals in a longitudinal direction of the core 3a on both sides of the center core 3a. The bone pieces 3b are alternately formed on both sides of the core. The weather strip is configured by inserting the core metal 11 for extrusion molding, and breaking the center core 3a between the adjacent bone pieces to divide the bone piece 3b into L-shaped pieces, thereby facilitating expansion.
