Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for detecting a moving object using accumulative difference image labeling. The apparatus according to the present invention comprises: an image obtaining unit for obtaining an image consisting of multiple consecutive frames; an image processing unit for generating an accumulative difference image by receiving the image from the image obtaining unit, obtaining difference images between the multiple consecutive frames, assigning a label to each pixel for each of the obtained difference images, assigning a sign determination value by determining the sign of a pixel value, and accumulating the sign determination values; and a moving object detecting unit for detecting a moving object by extracting pixels with the same sign from the accumulative difference image. |
