<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for automatically calculating a painting area. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for automatically calculating a painting area comprises: a design drawing transmitting step of receiving a design drawing of a ship corresponding to an inputted ship code from a database unit, using the inputted ship code; a subdivision step of subdividing the design drawing into a plurality of sections according to a type of painting required for the ship; a painting area calculating step of obtaining painting surfaces to be painted from the sections using the subdivision information, and calculating a painting area that is the sum of areas of the painting surfaces included in the section, to generate painting area information; and a result report generating step of collecting each painting area information generated from the section, to generate a result report of the entire design drawing.</p> |
