PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long life rotary anode X-ray tube constituted by diffusion bonding a target and a flange and can generate stabilized X-ray by maintaining a strong bond of the target and flange from the manufacturing time throughout the use time (during high speed rotation). SOLUTION: Stress reduction means for reducing a stress received by the joint surface to a target is provided at a flange formed on a supporting shaft which supports the target. More specifically, the flange has a flexible structure constituted of a cylindrical part 511 with the joint surface to a target, and a disk portion 512 connecting the cylindrical part 511 and the supporting shaft body 522, and the thickness of the disk portion 512 is set thinner than the thickness of the cylindrical part 511.
