PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct drive motor capable of surely preventing dust or liquid from entering into a motor from an outside even when pressure change occurs inside the motor. SOLUTION: A direct drive motor comprises: a stator (a motor core) 4 which is constantly maintained in stationary state; a rotor 5 which is arranged rotatable with respect to the stator 4; a base member (a housing base) 3 which fixes the stator 4 and is attached to a motor support member; an output axis 6 which is fixed to the rotor 5 so as to be rotatable along with the same; and a bearing 8 which supports the output axis 6 so as to be rotatable with respect to the base member 3. Seal members (an O-ring 13, a dust seal 16 and oil seals 18 and 42) which seal inside the motor and shut the motor off from outside the same are arranged at communication portions, gaps S1 and S2 between the base member 3 and the output axis 6 communicated with outside the motor. The base member 3 has a ventilation hole 94 which allows the inside of the motor and the outside thereof to communicate with each other so as to make internal air and external air interchangeable.
