<p>The device (38) has a cylindrical cable deflection body (39) made of a fire resistant insulating material e.g. glass or ceramic, and a holder for the deflection body. The holder is made of a fire resistant material e.g. metal. The holder is offset from the cylindrical cable deflection body, so that the holder allows enlacement of the cylindrical cable deflection body with a flat cable (1), without contact of the holder with the flat cable. A cover is provided above the deflection body. The holder supports two ends of the deflection body in a fork-like manner.
