A fuel pump clip 10 engages a pump handle (40, Fig.3) and trigger (38, Fig.3) to retain the trigger in an operative position against a spring bias. It comprises clip body 12 substantially in the shape of a horseshoe, including a first retaining arm 14 and an opposing second retaining arm 16, the first arm having a first distal end 14a and a first depression 28 for locating on either of the trigger and handle, the second arm having a second distal end 16a and a second depression 30 for locating on the other of the trigger and handle. The clip body is formed from a first material (e.g. acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), the depressions are covered by a second material (e.g. thermoplastic elastomer). The body 12 has a grip portion of reduced thickness 20 relative to the thickness of the retaining arms, with the periphery of the grip portion 20 bounded by the second material, providing bearing surfaces 24, 24a, 26, 26a substantially perpendicular to the surfaces of the grip portion 20. The bearing surfaces facilitate manipulation of the clip when engaging and disengaging the clip, and the second material has a higher coefficient of friction than the first material. |
