Provided is a plant which belongs to the family Solanaceae and cannot produce a glycoalkaloid. A protein having an enzymatic activity of oxidizing position-16 in a steroid backbone in a plant belonging to the family Solanaceae; a novel plant in which a gene encoding the protein is suppressed; and a method for producing/testing the plant.
