[Problem] To provide a method for producing a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which is capable of reducing dissolution of Mn from a positive electrode active material. [Solution] A method for producing a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which comprises: a step for preparing a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery that comprises a positive electrode, which uses a positive electrode active material represented by composition formula (1) Li1.5[NiaCobMnc[Li]d]O3 (wherein a, b, c and d satisfy 0 < a < 1.4, 0 ≤ b < 1.4, 0 < c < 1.4, 0 < d ≤ 0.5, a + b + c + d = 1.5 and 1.0 ≤ a + b + c < 1.5), a negative electrode and an electrolyte solution; and a step for forming a phosphorus compound represented by composition formula (2) LieHfPOgFh (wherein e represents a natural number of 3 or less, f represents an integer, h represents an integer of 1 or more, and g represents a number of oxygen atoms necessary for satisfying the valences of respective components) on the surface of the positive electrode active material. |
